Cabbage and Ground Beef: A Simple, One-Pan Meal

  • 1 small cabbage, chopped
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup onions, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp bouillon powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

1. Cook the Ground Beef

  1. Place the ground beef in a large pan or cast-iron skillet over medium heat.
  2. Break up the meat with a wooden spoon and cook until browned.

2. Add Aromatics

  1. Push the cooked beef to one side of the pan.
  2. Add the chopped onions and minced garlic to the empty side. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.

3. Incorporate Tomatoes and Spices

  1. Pour in the diced tomatoes and add the bouillon powder, cumin, cayenne pepper, smoked paprika, and salt.
  2. Stir everything together and bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
