Crispy Apple Pastry

Step 1: Prepare the Apples

  1. Peel the apples and cut them into small pieces or slices.
  2. Sprinkle cinnamon on both sides of the apple pieces to add sweetness and flavor.

Step 2: Prepare the Batter

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the yogurt, flour, stevia (or sugar), egg, lemon juice, and baking powder.
  2. Mix well until the batter is smooth and lump-free.
    • Tip: If the batter is too thick, add more yogurt, one tablespoon at a time, until it reaches a pourable consistency.

Step 3: Coat the Apple Slices

  1. Dip each apple slice into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated.

Step 4: Fry the Apple Slices

  1. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  2. Carefully place the batter-coated apple slices into the hot oil.
  3. Fry for 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.

Step 5: Drain and Serve

  1. Remove the fried apple slices from the pan and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  2. While still warm, sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.
